Cost a dish, set a price, and see what the platforms actually leave you.
Most food cost calculators stop at the menu price. This one keeps going, through GoFood and GrabFood commission, and PBJT or PPN tax, to the number that really decides your margin in Bali. A plain spreadsheet, built for how F&B actually sells here.

The number most calculators miss
A dish that runs 30% on the menu can run 40%+ on GoFood.
Platform commission comes off the top, before you have paid for a single ingredient. A dish costed at 30% food cost on its dine-in price can quietly run closer to 40% once GoFood or GrabFood take their cut of the net, and most operators price as if the commission were not there. The Channels sheet puts the dine-in and delivery numbers side by side so you can see the gap and price for it. The full walk-through is in our guide to food costing for Bali restaurants and cafés.

Overheads & Glossary
Packaging, utilities and a wastage buffer feed the recipes; plain-English + Bahasa definitions throughout.
When the sheet becomes a job
A calculator is only as current as someone keeps it.
The figures are only true if your supplier prices are. In Bali they move: fruit and fish seasonally, anything imported with the rupiah, so a sheet updated once a quarter is guessing at your margins by week three. If keeping it current turns into its own task, the same prices can be captured from supplier WhatsApp messages and your POS automatically. That is what we build. See WhatsApp automation for Bali businesses.
Questions
The honest fine print.
- Is it really free, and do I need to give an email?
- Free, and no email. Click the button, the spreadsheet downloads. No gate, no follow-up sequence.
- Does it handle delivery commission and tax?
- Yes, that is the point. The Channels sheet shows your effective food cost on dine-in versus GoFood, GrabFood, and ShopeeFood after commission, and the Tax sheet lets you flag PBJT (typically 10% in Bali) or PPN (11%) per dish. Most calculators stop at the menu-price food cost and miss the gap that actually decides your margin.
- Will it open in WPS Office or Google Sheets?
- Yes. It is a plain .xlsx with ordinary formulas (no macros), so it opens and calculates in WPS Office, Microsoft Excel, and Google Sheets. The figures are indicative Bali values; replace them with your own.
- Can you make this update itself?
- A spreadsheet only works if someone keeps the prices current. If updating supplier costs by hand becomes a job in itself, the same numbers can be captured from supplier WhatsApp messages and your POS automatically. That is what we build. The calculator is the manual version of that idea.
Want this running on your real kitchen?
The spreadsheet is the manual version. The real thing keeps your costs current on its own and tells you which dishes actually make money. Let's talk through what would help yours.
